Pirat-Euro 2007 Notice of race

1. Rules
The regatta will be governed by
1.1 the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing with all amendmends of DSV.
1.2 following prescriptions of the German Sailing Federation
(available on the website of the DSV http://www.dsv.org): Ranking-List Prescriptions (RO), Prescriptions of Racing (WO)
1.3 Classrules of the participating class
1.4 Sailing Instructions of the Pirat-Euro 2007
 

2. Advertising
Advertising shall be in accordance with ISAF regulation 20 Category C. If necessary the Sponsor-Logos or bow numbers shall be fixed on each side of the forward part of the hull as specified in the Sailing Instructions.

3. Eligibility
3.1 The Regatta is open for boats of Pirat-Class
3.2 Entitled to enter are crews according to IPA regulations
3.3 ISAF Regulation 19 applies
3.4. Maximum of allowed entries: 90
 

4. Entry
Entitled german crews send their entries to the following adress:
Karsten Bredt, Ebellstr. 16, D 30625 Hannover.
Entitled foreign crews send their entries first to their National Class Association and thereupon to the same adress (see above). Latest entry date: 16.06.2007.

5. Fees
Required Entry fee is as follows: 120.-€.
An entry is only valid after paying the entry fee. If an entry is given in writing it obligates to pay the entry fee. Only if an entry is rejected, the entry fee shall be paid back. German crews pay by bank transfer:

6. Schedule
6.1 Racing days are 27.08. to 31.08.2007
6.2 Warning signal for first race: 27.08.2007, 10.55 am
6.3 Number of races: 12
6.4 Closing date for starting the boats: 31.08.2007, 02.30 pm.
6.5 Prize-Giving-Ceremony: 31.08.2007
 

7. Measurement
There shall be no first measurement, valid measurement certificates shall be present.
 

8. Venue
8.1 The Sailing-Instructions of Pirat-Euro 2007 will contend a map showing the racing areas.
8.2 Berth for the boats and place of Racing office will be published on notice-board at 24.08.07.
 

9. Courses
Courses in accordance with the sailing instructions and RO
 

10. Penalty-Systems
ISAF-Rules Appendix P applies for all races.
 

11. Scoring
11.1 The series will be scored using the Low Point System (RR Appendix A4)
11.2. If 5 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. If 8 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.

12. Support boats
12.1 Support boats take over the obligation for Secure- and trailservice by registration.
12.2 Registration numbers must be shown on both sides of the engine.
 

13. Exclusion of liability – limitation of liability – cognovit clause

The responsibility for the decision of a coxswain to participate in a race or to continue with it is solely with him, to that extent he also takes the responsibility for his crew. The coxswain is responsible for the qualification and the correct nautical conduct of his crew as well as for the suitability and the transport-safe condition of the registered boat.
 

In cases of Force Majeure or on grounds of administrative orders or for safety reasons, the organizer is entitled to make changes in the realisation of the event or to cancel the event. In these cases there does not exist any liability for compensation of the organizer to the participant.
 

In case of a violation of obligations that do not constitute primary respectively material contractual duties (cardinal obligations), the liability of the organizer, no matter because of which cause in law, for material and property damages of all kinds and their consequences that arise to the participant during or in connection with the participation in the event resulting from a conduct of the organizer, his representatives, servants or agents, is restricted to damages that were caused wilfully or grossly negligent. When a violation of cardinal obligations occurs, in cases of simple negligence the liability of the organizer is limited to foreseeable, typically occurring damages. To the extent that the liability for damages of the organizer is excluded or restricted, the participant also relieves the staff - employees and representatives, agents,
servants, sponsors and individuals who provide or drive salvage, safety or rescue vessels or assist with their use - from the individual liability for damages, as well as also all other individuals who were instructed to act in connection with the realisation of the event. safety or rescue vessels or assist with their use - from the

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance and have a copy of the police.
